IMPHAL, Jan 16 - For the first time in the history of Gaan-Ngai, the greatest festival of the Zeliangrong community, a curtain raiser ceremony was held at the lawn of Raj Bhavan here on Wednesday.
Governor Dr Najma Heptulla attended the curtain raiser event which was held under the aegis of the State Level Gaan-Ngai Celebration Committee, Manipur in collaboration with the Tingkao Ragwang Chapriak Phuam (TRCP), a religious body of the community.
The State level Gaan-Ngai fest will be celebrated here on January 19. This is a festival heralding the New Year.
