SIVASAGAR ,Sept 29 - From the day of joining here as the new Sivasagar DC, Laksmi Priya, set out cleaning the environment of the mandir township with police and civil society as part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Mission.
On Saturday, the Deputy Commissioner took part in the cleanliness drive at Dolmukh Chariali and Muktinath Charialai and called upon the citizens to participate wholeheartedly in the mission to take the country ahead.
She called upon all to be respectful towards the safai workers and make it compulsory to keep dustbins in all puja pandals.
Laksmi Priya urged the police personnel to make it a habit to clean one�s environment.
She also urged all to join in the nationwide drive against malnutrition, specially among children and pregnant women.
A cleanliness drive was taken out by the police department and was led by SP Sivasagar Amitabh Sinha, while jawans from CRPF and CISF cleaned the precincts of the business establishments in the area.
