Woman saved from drowning

GUWAHATI, Nov 6 - The NDRF today prevented an accidental drowning and rescued a 48-year-old woman who had come from Bengaluru to take a holy dip in the river Brahmaputra during the ongoing Brahmaputra Pushkar festival.

The team stationed at Uzanbazar Ghat rescued Prashanthi Reddy, wife of Ramesh Reddy of Karnataka, on Wednesday morning.

She had gone to visit the Umananda temple and while taking a dip in the river, she slipped and started drowning. The NDRF team responded promptly and rescued her unharmed.
