GUWAHATI, Oct 7 - GMDA chairman Dhiren Baruah inaugurated the drilling works of a deep tube-well water supply project at Baghorbori Asomi Mahila Samiti today.
The president of Asomi Mahila Samiti, Urmila Chakravarty thanked the GMDA chairman in getting the project sanctioned. Dr Chandraprabha Bhuyan, secretary, Asomi Mahila Samiti, and journalist DN Chakravartty hoped that the water supply project would benefit a large number of people in the Homoeopathic College Road area.
Baruah, in his speech, said that in the course of his two-year term as the chairman, the GMDA has been able to energize four major water supply projects in the city, besides improving 20 bylanes and setting up an auditorium of the Freedom Fighters� Association at Rupnagar.
