GUWAHATI, Sept 21 - A delegation of the Viswa Hindu Parishad, Guwahati Mahanagar Samity led by its president Santi Kumar Singha felicitated veteran VHP leader Manik Chandra Barthakur on his 88th birthday at his Gitanagar residence here today, said a press release.
Acknowledging the honour, Barthakur, who was an associate of the late Ashok Singhal, advised the members to work sincerely to uphold the glory of the VHP.
Other members of the team that felicitated Barthakur included Promode Pran Barman, Dandi Kakati, Manoj Kr Deka and Alok Adhikary. Barthakur�s wife, noted singer Anima Barthakur and their son Subhrajyoti Barthakur welcomed the VHP team, the release added.
