GUWAHATI, Oct 27 - Sanjay Bahadur, Principal Director (Investigation-HQ), NER, Income Tax Department, Guwahati, on Friday interacted with the students of Royal Global University on the �Economics of #Me Too�.
An advocate and promoter of women�s empowerment through self-defence and education, Bahadur enlightened the students on the history of #Me Too.
A prolific writer, Bahadur said he, as a father to a daughter, was delighted to be amongst the future generation discussing the raging topic of the day �#Me Too� and urged all the young girls not to fear but to fight for their rights to be at par with men and not to be ashamed of standing up for themselves and to learn self-defence.
He stressed that as a responsible citizen, it was his duty to guide the youths, just as the teachers do.
Bahadur added that corporate groups and workplaces are gearing up with all economic legal implications of �#Me Too� and employees are made to sign documents either detrimental or progressive so that the image of the company remains intact.
He spoke of how technology has evolved in making the society aware to becoming a prime influencer for justice by comparing hallmark cases like the Mathura Rape case, the Bhanwari Devi case, the Vishaka case and the Nirbhaya case. �Laws have been changed to empower women in the workplace, which with time will hopefully change,� he added.
