Validity of licence, permits extended

GUWAHATI, June 1 - The transport department has extended the validity of registration, licence, permits etc., till July 31, 2020 in view of the inconvenience faced by the people during the current lockdown.

Fines for late payment or delay in renewal of other such documents have also been waived off. Transport Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary had a detailed discussion with the department officials on the impact of the national lockdown today.

Accordingly, in addition to the time extension, the government has waived off the compounding fees or fine for delay in payment of Commercial Tax for passenger vehicles and goods vehicles till July 31, 2020.
