Vaccination drive

NORTH LAKHIMPUR, Aug 19 - Vaccination against Rubella-Measles is under way in Lakhimpur district covering more than 3 lakh children. The programme, which began on Saturday, is likely to cover 2965 public schools, 335 private schools, 570 public hospitals and PHCs, 2788 institutes and in 1013 other centres of the district.

This was stated by Dr Gunin Kumar Gogoi, Additional Chief Health Officer, Lakhimpur in a press release. He said that children who were vaccinated for Rubella-Measles earlier would also be covered in this programme. Children aged between 9 to 15 are targeted for this vaccination drive in the district. Health personnel comprising 4270 ANN, GNN, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers and supervisors have been engaged so far to implement the vaccination drive.
