UPDS terms for signing accord

GUWAHATI, Oct 21 � The United People�s Democratic Solidarity (UPDS) which has been on a ceasefire with the Centre today said that it would desist from signing the proposed peace agreement with the Centre scheduled for October 24 unless the �agreed formula� was ensured.

In an emailed statement, the UPDS said that the �formula� consisted of setting up of a neutral administration of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) in the period between the signing of the peace accord and the holding of the next election.
