GUWAHATI, OCT 13: Amidst heightened security in view of the ensuing Durga Puja, two persons were wounded after a low intensity blast took place near Sukreswar Ghat in the Fancy Bazar area at around 11.45 am triggering panic across the State.
The 'blast' took place a few metres away from the Panbazar police station.
The injured persons which includes a woman have been rushed to the Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital.
Senior police officials have rushed to the spot.
Onlookers claim that they heard a deafening sound and the intensity of the explosion was such that it completely damaged the wall adjacent to the footpath.
