DERGAON, Oct 14 - A leading environmental conservation organisation named AASHRAY is organising a tulsi plantation contest on the occasion of Kati Bihu on October 18.
The preliminary stage of the competition will start at the residence of the participant where they will have to plant the tulsi plant in the evening of Kati Bihu. The shortlisted participants will be called for viva-voce for final selection on October 21. The first three participants will be awarded the Aryabhatta, Patanjali and Sushruta awards which were instituted by the former Governor of Assam PB Acharyya in 2015 and accredited AASHRAY as nodal agency to organise the event.
The awards carry a cash prize and a citation. Interested participants may contact the organisers for further details.
