Tuki wants IT office in Itanagar

ITANAGAR, Sept 13 - Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki has requested for setting up of an Income Tax office in the State capital here for convenience of the people, who have to travel to Assam for tax-related issues.

Tuki, who called on chairperson of the Central Board of Direct Taxes, Anita Kapur, at New Delhi recently, made the request citing most government officials, army and paramilitary personnel and those working in the private sector were facing inconveniences to carry out income tax-related business for want of an Income Tax office in the State, an official release said.

Responding to the request, Kapur assured the Board would look into the matter and initiate the process for establishing an office in Itanagar, the release added. � PTI
