TT hall inaugurated

GUWAHATI, Aug 5 - A new table tennis hall of the Nagen Hazarika Table Tennis Foundation Academy was inaugurated on August 3 at Wireless here with all the necessary equipment.

The hall was inaugurated by former TT player and noted sports organiser Prasanta Gogoi. Tridib Duvarah, secretary of the Assam Table Tennis Association was also present on the occasion.

A galaxy of former paddlers like-Prasanta Gogoi, Madalasa Baruah, Rittick Saikia, Rajeeb Saikia, Abbasuddin Ahmed, Prasanta Hazarika, Sanjib Saikia etc were felicitated by the chief coach Manas Das on behalf of the Academy. More than 80 persons, including many present State players along with their guardians and many other table tennis lovers were also present on the occasion.

With this extension, the Academy will be able to lay six tables which will be able to accommodate more than 40 players at a time. The NHTTF Academy was setup in the year 2012 with an endeavour to produce quality table tennis players from the State, stated a release.
