GUWAHATI, June 5 � A celestial tango of the Sun and Venus, known in astronomical parlance as �transit of Venus,� will occur tomorrow, an event that will not repeat itself till 2117, more than a century hence. This transit will be visible from 3.39 am (IST) to 10.19 am (IST), stated a press release.
Guwahati Planetarium, ASTEC and the Pragjyotish Amateur Astronomers� Association are jointly arranging a live show of the event for the benefit of public from sunrise to 10.20 am on the planetarium premises.
The Regional Science Centre, Khanapara, will also put in place special telescopes on the Centre premises for the celestial experience.
