Training for business correspondent agents

GUWAHATI, Nov 8 - The Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI), Kamrup (M) of Assam Gramin Vikash Bank completed a three-day training for business correspondent agents (BCA) regarding Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yajana (PMJDY) on November 7.

This intensive training, imparted to 18 youths of the State, was conducted with technical support from Akhilesh Kumar, operation in-charge, Next Zen FI-Tech, West Bengal.

The programme was inaugurated by SK Singh, Chief Manager, Bank of India, ZO Guwahati and Ramkrishna Sarma, Regional Manager, Assam Gramin Vikash Bank, RO Guwahati.

On the day of valediction, Singh and DC Nath, director of the institute were present at the function to boost the morale of the trainees. Singh in his speech enlightened the trainees about the importance of financial inclusion under PMJDY in mission mode as a BCA. Nath highlighted the duties and responsibilities of BC agents as grassroots level bankers.

Nath further stated that all the trainees, nominated and sponsored by Bank of India, ZO Guwahati, would be entrusted to serve as BCAs in customer service point (CSP), on behalf of Bank of India for financial inclusion under PMJDY in the State.
