Train passenger held with �morphine�

GUWAHATI, June 11 - GRP personnel today caught a man from the Rajdhani Express with suspected morphine worth around Rs 3 crore.

The GRP personnel recovered the suspected morphine weighing approximately 900 grams from the possession of a passenger Saulat Rasool while conducting a routine check on Train No -12423 Dn Rajdhani Express on Platform No 1 of the Guwahati Railway Station around 7.45 am, GRP DSP Iftekar Ali said. The 39-year-old accused is a resident of Shukul Bazar in Amethi of Uttar Pradesh.

During preliminary interrogation, it was learnt that the offender had received the drug from Dimapur and was expected to deliver it in Kanpur, the DSP said, adding that further investigation is on.
