Traditional fest at Sri Sri Biswa Satra

MANGALDAI, June 13 - The three-day traditional religious festival called �Panitola Utsav and Basudev Puja�, organised at Burhi Gosain temple of Sri Sri Biswa Satra, Sipajhar, in Darrang, came to an end on Monday.

Pithakhowa and its adjoining villages, including Shimbhapara, turned into a holy place as the festival was celebrated with enthusiasm and traditional gaiety. Every year, thousands of devotees from different corner of the district and neighbouring districts like Kamrup (Rural), Udalguri, Nalbari visit the place. The festival featured many religious and socio-cultural programmes, including mass cleanliness drive, presentation of traditional folk culture like the Ojapali, Deodhani, Ayoti Naam, Nagara Naam, among others.
