Total Sanitation Programme in Morigaon

MORIGAON, Oct 8 - The Public Health Engineering (PHE) department of Morigaon district will complete the Total Sanitation Programme in every village of Morigaon district within December 31 of this year.

Meanwhile, a fortnightly programme is going on under the Swachh Bharat Mission under the PHE Department in 13 gaon panchayats of the district.

An open meeting was held at Bhurbandha Community hall on October 4 under the auspices of PHE, Morigaon where more than 5000 village people pledged to construct toilets in their homes under the Total Sanitation programme.

Addressing the gathering , Hemen Das, Deputy Commissioner, Morigaon appealed to the PHE Department and the village people to make the Swachh Bharat programme a grand success.

Speaking on the occasion, Debojit Kalta, Superintending Engineer, PHE, Nagaon assured the people of all possible help to construct their toilets.

The meeting was presided over by Bhupen Deka, president, Bhurbandha Anchalik Panchayat.
