GUWAHATI, Sept 12 - The 46th Assam State Weightlifting Championship for Junior and Senior will be held at Tezpur from September 28 to 30.
The championship will be organised by the Sonitpur District Body Builders Association under the aegis of Assam Weightlifting Association.
Players registration will be held on September 28 and they will have to report at Asomiya Club, Tezpur. Competition will be conducted in 10 weight categories for men, women and juniors on September 29 and 30. NADA will conduct the dope test in the championship, stated a release.
An executive meeting of Assam Weightlifting Association will be held on September 28 at the competition venue from 7pm.
As per the International Weightlifting Federation rules there will be changes in body weight categories for both men and women from this year.
New weight categories are: (Women) 45kg, 49kg, 55kg, 59kg, 64kg, 71kg, 76kg, 81kg, 87kg and above 87kg; (Men) 55kg, 61kg, 67kg, 73kg, 81kg, 89kg, 96kg, 102kg, 109kg and above 109kg.
