GUWAHATI, Sept 18 - A taxi driver was stabbed to death by miscreants near the Patharquarry taxi stand under the Noonmati police station this evening.
Stabbed with a dagger, the victim, Javedul Islam, was rushed to a nearby private hospital but he succumbed to his injuries.
Police picked up one Narayan Deka (28) from the spot, suspecting him to be involved in the murder as he had blood stains all over his dress. An irate crowd had gathered near the private hospital where the victim was admitted, but the mob dispersed after police and paramilitary forces arrived.
