Swachh Bharat programme near Pobitora sanctuary

GUWAHATI, March 18 - Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, Guwahati-Siliguri Pipeline, in collaboration with GRIEF & U, an NGO, conducted a Swachh Bharat programme at Chanaka Village near the Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary today.

The volunteers surveyed a total number of 68 households in the village. Each household was made aware of hygienic ways of living and the dangers associated with open defecation. Soaps were given to each household and correct method of hand-washing and its benefits were explained to the villagers.

Prizes were awarded to the best three households.

GRIEF & U also conducted a free health camp. Every year, the camp is conducted at Chanaka Village.

Around 250 villagers were present at today�s camp. Blood sugar and BP were also examined along with the routine general check-up. Free medicines were distributed among the villagers.
