GUWAHATI, Jan 17 � Noted sportsperson Suren Ram Phookun has been hospitalised at Guwahati Hospitals here in a critical condition. A former international cricket umpire and a national level reputed football referee, Phookun had to be hospitalised on January 14 when his health condition deteriorated.
Meanwhile, Assam Cricket Association (ACA) has announced financial aid for the treatment of the veteran sports personality, who was also the secretary of the ACA umpires� committee.
In an ACA release it was stated that president Gautam Roy, secretary Bikash Baruah along with all the members offered prayer to the almighty for speedy recovery of Phookun.
