GUWAHATI, Nov 19 The Assam State political convention, which was initially scheduled to be held on November 17, will now be held on December 7 next. The convention will be held in Guwahati on that date, said Holiram Terang. Terang is one of the members of the convening committee of the convention.

Terang said that the November 17 convention proposed by the convening committee of the Assam State Political Convention was postponed to December 7 next in view of the death of legendary musician Dr Bhupen Hazarika.

The convening committee, comprising former MLAs Israil Nanda and Alok Ghosh, besides Holiram Terang, and former Trinamool Congress leaders Shyamal Barua, Diganta Saikia, former AGP leaders Paragjyoti Barua and Sasanka Neog and former Bharatiya Janata Party leader Charan Deka, will now hold the convention in Guwahati on December 7. The venue of the convention, earlier slated to be held at the District Library Auditorium in the city, may have to be changed, added Terang.
