MANGALDAI, June 4 - A jawan of SSB�s 37 Battalion having its headquarters here has tested COVID-19 positive on Thursday.
The jawan, a returnee to the State from J&K by train and then by flight via Delhi on May 31 last, was quarantined at SSB camp Sonapur. Earlier his swab was collected at LGBI Airport in Guwahati and sent for test. After he entered the district on Tuesday, he was quarantined here at their SSB headquarters.
On Thursday following the receipt of the positive report, he was shifted to the isolation ward at Mangaldai Civil Hospital. With this one more positive patient, the tally of positive cases in the district has gone up to 21. The district on Wednesday has recorded the maximum of 13 positive cases. Meanwhile, the authorities on Wednesday evening arranged ten additional isolation beds for Covid-19 confirmed cases as the 20 beds in the Civil Hospital already arranged for this reason got occupied on the day.
