South Point School champs

GUWAHATI, Oct 21 - Hosts South Point School emerged champions in the CBSE Cluster-I U-19 Football Championship.

In the final played at the Nehru Stadium here today, South Point School outshot Mt Zion, Manipur 4-3 in penalties after playing a goal less draw.

Earlier, in the semifinals today, Mt Zion trounced Royal Global School, Guwahati 5-0 while South Point downed Assam Rifles Public School 4-3.

Altogether 34 schools from States like Manipur, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim along with Assam took part in the meet.

Both the champion and the runners-up teams have qualified to play in the CBSE National Football Championship to be hosted by Sunbeam School, Varanasi in December.
