Skill devp programme inaugurated

GUWAHATI, April 10 - A skill development programme under the Assam Building and Other Construction Workers� Welfare Board was inaugurated at the NEDFi Convention Centre here today by State Labour and Employment Minister Pallab Lochan Das.

The training will start tomorrow, under which 8,100 registered construction workers would be introduced to state-of-the-art training module.

The programme under the government is being implemented by Puberun Consortium of Companies, which, in the last seven years, has conducted skill development projects for government and PSU organisations, training hundreds of beneficiaries from across the region.

�This has resulted in employment generation and socio-economic development,� an official press release stated.
