Six villages submerged

DIBRUGARH, June 29 - At least six villages in remote areas of Chabua revenue circle � Mirigaon, Tengabari, Dadhia, Rongmolla, Raidang and Gereki have been submerged by flood waters.

Nearly 7000 people and some 231 hectares of agricultural land have been affected, sources in the district administration here informed. The administration has already rushed a team each from the Public Health Engineering (PHE) and Veterinary and Animal Husbandry department to Dadhia to take stock and assist the affected people and cattle.

The local administration distributed some 100.93 quintals of rice, 18.59 quintals of lentils (dal) and 5.59 quintals of salt among the affected families.
