Sikkim launches open Govt data portal

GANGTOK, June 11 - Sikkim today claimed to become the first State in India to have an open government data portal.

Lok Sabha MP, PD Rai launched the open government data portal sikkim.data.gov.in and Open Government Data Platform (Sikkim) today.

Sikkim thus became the first State in India to have this portal, State IT officials said.

�With this we have moved to the national platform,� Rai said. Rai also expressed hope to see more organic and agriculture data in the portal.

On the open government data portal, data produced or commissioned by the government or government controlled entities can be freely used, reused and redistributed by anyone. � PTI
