GUWAHATI, Feb 16 - The Assam State Urban Livelihoods Mission organised a programme including self-help group mela, street food festival, loan mela and job fair from February 11 to 15 at the Lakhidhar Bora Khetra here.
The programme was organised as part of the �Shehri Samridhi Utsav� observed by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs with an aim to unite all stakeholders of Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM) and create a strong momentum for the mission by implementing a number of initiatives across India.
The Shehri Samridhi Utsav 2019 comprises various activities and events during the fortnight at the city or town, state and national levels, such as linking urban poor to the relevant government schemes, awareness rallies, special drive to form new SHGs, especially for the welfare of sanitation workers, manual scavengers, waste pickers, etc., said a statement.
