GUWAHATI, July 12 - The first meeting of local complaint committee (local committee) formed by the Kamrup Metro district administration under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (SHWWP) (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, was held here on Thursday.
According to a statement, the meeting was presided over by Anurita Pathak Hazarika, chairperson of the local complaint committee, who is also the State director of North East Network Women�s Organisation, Assam.
Sensitisation on the SHWWP Act was facilitated by the chairperson for the members. The sensitisation also included understanding issues of sexual harassment of women at workplace, role of the local committee, complaint procedures, inquiry procedures, duties of employer, etc.
ADC BB Bhagawati and District Development Commissioner Dr Bijoya Choudhury along with other officials and members also took part in the meeting.
