Several villages submerged in Baksa

GORESWAR, Aug 16 - Incessant rainfall in Bhutan border area followed by the continuous rise in the water levels of the Puthimari, Suklai, Boraliya, Deosunga rivers running through Baksa district, has submerged a vast area in Baksa district since Friday last. The flood-affected areas are Bangalipara, Garubasti, Deusunga, Uparkhuti, Oubari etc., including vast cultivated areas and schools like Bornadi Balika ME School, Everest Academy, Bangalipara Namghar. Besides, following the breach of embankment of the Puthimari river, the villages as Nathkochi, Khoirabari, Bagaribari, Ulubari, Madalbar etc., were also submerged completely.
