KAZIRANGA, March 7 - Sensation prevails here over the reported visit of an American tourist to Kaziranga National Park, who was later found to be infected with coronavirus.

According to sources, the American tourist landed first at Jorhat airport from Kolkata. Later, he took a river cruise on MV Mahabahu Brahmaputra and went to Majuli and then moved towards Kaziranga and finally reached Guwahati. He was there for seven nights on the cruise starting on February 23 from Jorhat district.

But it was still not clear whether the infected tourist took a jungle safari or not in Kaziranga National Park as some sources claimed that he perhaps remained on the cruise which was halted at Slighat to enable its guests to visit Kaziranga National Park and take elephant and jeep safari.

But another source claimed that the infected American tourist took the elephant safari at Kohora central range and jeep safari at Bagori range of Kaziranga National Park.

School children have been asked to take extra care while coming to school wearing mask.
