Second phase of sanitisation drive in city from today

GUWAHATI, March 29 - The first phase of disinfectant operation being carried out by the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) with the help of the State fire and emergency services ended here today.

The second phase of the disinfectant operation will start on Monday.

The six-day programme that started on March 24 aimed at the prevention of the spread of coronavirus in the city.

Shops, parks, garbage bins, public toilets, markets, supermarkets, hospitals, schools, etc., were sanitised during the six-day drive.

On Sunday, the GMC along with the team of fire and emergency services have sanitised the roads at Lokhra Chariali, Jyotikuchi, Odalbakra, Lalganesh, Battalion Gate, Colony Bazar, Cycle Factory, Gorchuk, Datalpara, Manpara, Ganesh Para, Dhirenpara, Itabhata Road via Cricket Stadium ltabhata Road, Lalganesh and few other localities.
