School student drowns at west Dhemaji

DHEMAJI, Aug 22 - A ten-year-old school student Manuranjan Dutta, son of Sadananda Dutta and Minaprabha Dutta of no. 2 Naruathan Village in West Dhemaji under Dhemaji Police Station, drowned in a pool on August 19.

As per report, the boy went out of home on August 19 afternoon on a bicycle and on way back home, he fell down from the bicycle into a deep pool while crossing the dilapidated bamboo footbridge over the pool. Manuranjan was a student of class II at no. 2 Naruathan Primary School. The local people have deeply mourned the tragic death and urged the government to offer financial aid to the poor bereaved family.
