The tests were necessitated after two doctors one from the GMCH and another from the dental college tested positive for the virus.

The samples of all the boarders of the dental college hostel, cook, chowkidar as well as the canteen staff have tested negative. Two other doctors working with the positive patient in the triage section of GMCH screening area have also tested negative, official sources said, adding, some 1,500 tests are being conducted at GMCH.

So far 538 results have come. All are negative. These were mostly of the doctors. We are also taking the samples of patients and other staff. The samples are being sent to ICMR-Lahowal, AMCH, Barpeta and even Delhi for tests. The results will take some time, the sources said.
