�Sahitya Sabha laying stress on translation works�

GUWAHATI, Dec 23 - Grandmother�s Tales, a translation work of young writer Harsita Hiya was released by writer and president of Asam Sahitya Sabha Dr Kuladhar Saikia at a function here today.

The book, a translation of folk tales from Lakshminath Bezbaroa�s Burhi Aair Sadhu, has been published by city-based Akhar Prakash.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Saikia praised the young writer for the translation work and said that the Sabha is also laying emphasis on translation activities.

Translator Hiya recently completed her masters in English from the School of Language Literature and Culture Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University.
