Rs 1 crore grant for AASTGA building

CHABUA, Oct 6 - Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has announced Rs 1 crore for construction of the office building of All Assam Small Tea Growers� Association (AASTGA) at Jorhat. The Chief Minister made the announcement while attending the 28th annual conference meeting of the association as a guest of honour held on DDR College premises in Chabua on October 3.

Earlier, Chandra Mohan Patowary, Minister of Industries and Transport, in his speech said that he is interested to hold a discussion with the central committee of AASTGA in Guwahati to fulfil their demands.

Gopal Krishna Khound, president of the AASTGA central committee, presided over the open meeting. Later, a souvenir was also released in the meeting by Dr Bhupen Barman, principal of DDR College, Chabua.

The meeting was attended by Podma Lochan Das, Minister of Labour and Power; Rameswar Telly, MP of Dibrugarh constituency; Binod Hazarika, MLA of Chabua LAC; Prasanta Phukon, MLA of Dibrugarh LAC; Rituporna Baruah, MLA of Lahoal LAC; Terosh Gowalla, MLA of Duliajan LAC; Bimal Borah, MLA of Tingkhong LAC; Sanjoy Kish, MLA of Tinsukia LAC; and Bolin Chetia, MLA of Sadiya LAC.
