RPF rescues 23 minors

GUWAHATI, July 21 - Railway Protection Force (RPF) of the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) rescued as many as 23 minor boys and girls from different stations and trains during the one-week period from July 8 to 14.

During this period, the RPF also apprehended a person involved in theft of belongings of passengers and 36 others for pulling the alarm chains of trains without any reason, said an official statement.

On July 9, a team from RPF Lumding and RPF Guwahati apprehended a person at the Guwahati Railway Station, who was involved in theft of passengers� belongings and recovered three mobile phones stolen from passengers.

On July 10, RPF Hojai and Government Railway Police of Lanka Railway Station, while conducting a check at the station, recovered 34 plastic bags containing drugs in an unclaimed condition.

One person was later arrested in this connection.
