Roundtable on Assembly polls on March 9

GUWAHATI, March 6 - Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University, Guwahati is organising a roundtable on the forthcoming Assam Assembly elections, at the IIBM Conference Hall on March 9 at 10.30 am. Personalities from various fields, along with the university fraternity, are scheduled to attend the event.

The roundtable seeks to facilitate participation of people from all sections of society in order to enable them to assemble and to take part in constructive deliberations revolving on the issues and challenges in the context of the present socio-political and economic milieu of the State.

The university believes that there is an urgent need to meaningfully deliberate on and generate political awareness regarding the relevant issues and challenges that ought to be addressed on a priority basis. This requires the involvement of different sections of the civil society including individual citizens, political parties, student organisations and other associations, according to Dr Arupjyoti Choudhury, dean, academic.
