Revenue survey at water-bodies from today

GUWAHATI, July 20 � The Kamrup Metro district administration has directed circle officers in the city to conduct an extensive revenue survey from tomorrow at major water-bodies � Sarusola, Borsola, Bondajan and Deepor Beel.

The survey is to be completed within seven days and then submitted to the Deputy Commissioner of the district with details of encroachment, blockages and illegal constructions, among others, a senior official said today.

The revenue survey will also be conducted at low-lying and flood prone localities of the city like Anil Nagar, Nabin Nagar, Tarun Nagar, Rajgarh and Pub-Sarania. Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner (in-charge) Dr M Angamuthu has directed the GMC to form Resident Welfare Committees to solve local problems.
