GUWAHATI, June 3 - With a view to introducing a �pedestrian-friendly walking zone� without vehicular movement in the city, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Amanjeet Kaur has issued an order to temporarily restrict plying of all kinds of vehicles from 5 am to 7 am and from 7 pm to 8 pm on the stretch of the MG Road from Panikal (residence of the DC of Kamrup Metro) to the Raj Bhawan.
The order has been issued under Section 115 of the MV Act, 1988, and Section 93 of the Assam Police Act, 2007, stated an official release.
