Rescued migratory birds released

IMPHAL, Dec 2 � The People for Animals, Thoubal in association with Forest officials released the rescued migratory birds at a simple releasing gathering at Waithoupat in Thoubal district recently.

PFA, in a statement, said that two hunters who were arrested for catching migratory birds, were produced before CJM Thoubal. PFA Thoubal had filed a petition for releasing the birds. Due to shock, multiple injuries and dehydration, 36 birds had died. Only 14 which were fit were released with the order of CJM. The hunters were fined with a sum of Rs 10,000 each under WLP Act 1972. The dead 36 birds were disposed at Forest Range Office.
