DIBRUGARH, Aug 5 � In an effort to create awareness on HIV/AIDS among, promote safe sex and reduce discrimination against AIDS victims in India, the Red Ribbon Express, an AIDS/HIV awareness campaign train by the Indian Railways will halt at Dibrugarh Railway Station for two-day exhibition, awareness, counselling and other related services on August 13 and 14, a press release said.
The motto of the Red Ribbon Express is �Embarking on the journey of life�. The Red Ribbon Express seeks to spread awareness about HIV/AIDS, especially those in rural regions. On-platform and off-site communication activities such as exhibits, street plays and demonstrations are used to attract attention of the visitors.
Treatment and counselling services are also available on the coach. The projects target audience of primarily youth groups, women�s groups, student communities, urban slum dwellers, wage earners and farmers.
