Railways� re-development work

GUWAHATI, July 27 - The Indian Railways will undertake re-development work at five stations in the NF Railway zone, including three in Assam, at a total cost of Rs 65 crore.

The five stations selected for the project are Rangiya, Guwahati, New Tinsukia, Siliguri Junction and Alipurduar Junction.

The work is expected to be completed by December this year. The emphasis will be on having visible change at the stations without unnecessary construction.

This will include improvement of facade of the station building, circulating area, platform surface, washable apron, proper signage and LED lighting.

Sanction for the project has been received from the Railway Board, said an official statement issued today.
