Pul distributes ex-gratia to landslide victims

ITANAGAR, July 5 - Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Kalikho Pul on Monday handed over ex-gratia payment of Rs 4 lakh each to the nearest kith and kin of the Bhalukpung landslide victims and Rs 1 lakh each to the injured persons.

Ten persons, including seven women had perished and four others injured when a massive landslide swept away their dwellings at Bhalukpong, located on Assam-Arunachal border, on July 1 last.

The Chief Minister while distributing the ex-gratia payments assured that the government would extend further financial help for the injured in their treatment. He also offered a government job to Samina Boro, daughter of deceased Pinky Boro in the accident, on humanitarian ground.
