TINSUKIA, Sept 12 - Flood, Erosion Resistance Struggle Forum ( FERSF), Tinsukia and Dibrugarh districts has filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the Gauhati High Court, with the prayers to direct the State Government to act for a permanent solution to the erosion affected areas.

Addressing a press conference here yesterday, the spokespersons of the forum alleged that as per the recommendations of the Technical Advisory Committee two erosion protection schemes namely Rohmoria of Dibrugarh district and Dirak-Sumoni of Tinsukia district got financial approval of Rs 78.48 crore and Rs.14.14 crore respectively in the month of May last year. But, the authorities concerned are yet to take action in this regard.
