Protest rallies against CAA at Doomdooma, Tinsukia

DOOMDOOMA, Jan 19 - Massive protest rallies against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 were held at Rupai Siding here and Tinsukia today.

Addressing the rally organised by the public in association with various other ethnic organisations and the artistes at Rupai High School playground, advocate Arup Borbora termed the Act as unconstitutional.

The rally was also addressed by AJYCP secretary Palash Changmai, singer Manash Robin and several others and strongly opposed CAA. Around 3000 people participated in the rally.

On the other hand, the All Moran Students� Union (AMSU) and all the organisations of the Moran community organised a protest rally at Janmukh playground, Tinsukia against the CAA. Addressing the gathering AMSU president Arunjyoti Moran, AJYCP general secretary Palash Changmai and several others opposed CAA and urged the people to continue their struggle against the controversial Act. Around 5000 people attended the rally.
