Protest against Amit Shah�s remarks

JORHAT, Dec 28 - Members of AJYCP burnt the effigy of Union Home Minister Amit Shah here on Monday to protest against the alleged disparaging remark made by Shah on the martyrs of Assam agitation during Shah�s speech in Guwahati on Saturday.

Holding placards and shouting slogans against Shah and the BJP, the protesters burnt the Union Home Minister�s effigy at the busy Garali area here.

The protesters, led by the Jorhat city unit president (in-charge) Debojit Baruah and general secretary Gautam Das respectively, said that any kind of insult to the martyrs of Assam will not be tolerated and people of the State will always fight for their rights and against those work against the interest of the Assamese society.

The protesters also flayed the BJP for bringing in Citizenship Amendment Act which was against the interests of indigenous people of the State.
