Project launched in Sikkim for managing complex disasters

GANGTOK, Sept 23 - Sikkim chief secretary Alok Kumar Shrivastava has launched a workshop �Capacity Building Strategies� for managing complex disasters in the face of climate change.

The project is supported by Union Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change. It is being implemented by Indian Institute of Public Administration and the technical organisation SEEDS with support from State Disaster Management Authority of Sikkim Government.

Chairing the workshop launch, Shrivastava said the capacity building initiative is targeting different institutions, including schools, panchayats and departments concerned. � PTI
