Prohibitory order clamped

GUWAHATI, July 15 - The District Magistrate of South Kamrup, Rajib Prakash Baruah has prohibited assembly of five or more persons at public places, besides carrying of arms, ammunition, explosive and weapons of any nature in any public place or vehicle, and in any procession, rally or meeting under Section 144 of the CrPC within the entire district.

The order also prohibits processions and shouting of slogans in any places, highways and roads and also slogans which may incite communal violence at any place in the district.

The District Magistrate has further prohibited gambling in any public place and use of loudspeakers throughout South Kamrup with immediate effect and until further orders.
